Small and medium-sized businesses are being urged to consider potential new markets abroad, as part of a Government drive to boost the UK economy.
The call follows the recent launch of the Government’s ‘Business in You’ campaign, which is working to encourage people to start or grow their own business throughout 2012, while highlighting the existing support services that are available to SMEs.
As part of the drive, UK Export Finance will be introducing a range of financial support for SMEs that are looking to export, but are unable to obtain finance through normal commercial channels.
Meanwhile, a new online register of advisors will also aim to help businesses to protect their intellectual property abroad.
Mark Prisk, Business and Enterprise Minister, said, ‘Giving businesses the confidence to trade abroad is vital to help boost growth in the economy’.
